Nintendo Conference: WiiU

Nintendo is last of the big three to do their conference. It was filled with WiiU and MARIO!! The only new console to be shown at E3 and it is somewhat better than I thought it would be.

I believe the biggest news from the Nintendo conference is that you can use two WiiU tablets per console. Better than only have one of them and kids fighting over who gets to use it. As you can see from the picture posted above and judging  from what Nintendo is saying about it. The tablet screen is going to act as second TV screen where you can play the game without using the TV or use it  like a PSV (Playstation Vita) and turn a kart racing from four to five people. Where one person will be looking down at the tablet while everyone else will be using Wiimotes and playing on the TV.

Some of the games annocued for the system are Batman Arkham Asylum Amoured Edition, Mass Effect 3, Tekken Tag 2, Ninja Gaiden to name a few. It is quite impressive line up if this was E3 2010.  Since the Wii U is now able to have current gen graphics it has finally caught up to PS3 and the 360 but in two years it will be a generation behind both of the systems. Also like the Wii games there was a naming convention of have Wii either that the start of the game name WiiFit, Wii Sports, and so on. It seems console will be no different with ZombieU and New Super Mario Bros. U (oh by the way there is another Super Mario brothers game coming out for the system, there is always a new Mario game released for a new Nintendo system). I was surprised there was no mention about Zelda(U) or Metroid (U) but I am pretty soon we will be hearing about that really soon.

Sony is doing the same thing with the PSV and Ps3 but the problem is you need to spend a lot of money to make it happen. I am somewhat interested in what tech will be used for and might be interested to try it out at a lower price point (still not told yet). There were other games and stuff announced at the conference but this was the only thing I some cared about and wanted to see how it will work.

Note: I may or may to an E3 recap mainly because everything has been announced at the different conferences. Now it is just people going more in depth with more or less of the same footage shown to everyone. If anything interesting comes up one of us here may write about it.
